A collection of laugh out loud White House communications

It is coming so fast, that I am going to simply update this post daily with items which made me lose my grim for a few seconds. Of course, in my mind (which is very active and agile) grim and hopeless exist snugged right up to hilarity.

June 30

This afternoon, in a press briefing, McEnany changed course, saying that “The president does read and he also consumes intelligence verbally. This president, I’ll tell you, is the most informed person on Planet Earth when it comes to the threats that we face.”

“We shouldn’t presume that a group of experts somehow knows what’s best,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said during Fauci's appearance before the Senate health committee.

July 9

from Richard's Poor Almanac June 1st
I have failed to have a hearty laugh each day for nearly a week now. I am scrubbing this mission. But not without one last try:

From the WaPo  Plum Line Opinion: Stop saying Trump is "in denial". The truth is much worse.

Behold the losing paragraph:

Not clueless and hapless. Malevolent.

Once we dispense with the idea that Trump remains “in denial,” we’re left with a few interpretations. The most charitable is that Trump continues to have principled disagreements with experts over these matters, but there are zero indications he has any substantively grounded views on them of any kind.

For me the funny is in the implication that having a clueless and hapless president is A-OK.
Just, wow.
